Roger Keane is currently in his 9th year teaching middle school band in the South Carolina Public Schools, and is in his 4th year as Director of Bands at Carolina Springs Middle School. Prior to coming to Carolina Springs, he taught middle school band in Greenwood District 50 and Richland School District 2.
At Carolina Springs, his bands have received consistent Superior ratings at state concert festival and at the Carowinds music festival, and have qualified for the SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award each of the past three years.
Mr. Keane has guest conducted the Blythewood High School Symphonic Band and the Lander University Wind Ensemble, as well as serving as a middle school honor band clinician for Georgia Music Educators District 7.
A native of the midlands, he graduated from the University of South Carolina and has pursued further study in wind conducting and fine arts education through USC, Michigan State University, and the University of Texas. Outside of Lexington 1, he is an active church musician and performs regularly with the Palmetto Concert Band in Columbia.
