Spring Band Camp – May 26th – 28th, 2015!
Next Tuesday through Thursday will mark the beginning of next year’s marching band season! This is our annual event where we first bring together all of our new incoming members, and the returning members. This icebreaker event is designed to introduce the marching band activity for the new members, and begin the development of our band family!
We are very fortunate to have two leadership clinicians coming to the camp to work with our band officers, the entire marching band and color guard, and our parent booster organization! Frank Troyka, from Texas, will be here to work with the students. Frank will come in on Wednesday, and have a session with our band officers during the school day, as well as after the rehearsal. Frank will then lead a session with the entire band Thursday afternoon from 4:30 – 6:00. This will be a fun and exciting way to get our students motivated for the upcoming season!
Richard Saucedo will be here to work with our parent booster organization. Richard is the past band director of Carmel High School from Carmel, Indiana. During his tenure there, Carmel HS was a national champion at the BOA Grand National Championship, and a finalist every year. Richard is also a prolific band composer of the highest caliber, and is in demand all over the country as a clinician. He will be leading a session with the parents on Thursday from 6:30 – 8 PM. This is mandatory for all parents, so please plan to attend!
We are very fortunate to have these two gentlemen work with our program!!
Also, please do not forget that the initial commitment fee of $100 is due on Thursday evening. This fee will secure a spot in the marching band and color guard for your child, and go towards their overall band fees.
Let’s get excited for the new year!! Great things are continuing to happen at the White Knoll Band!!
