White Knoll Band Family,

I am bursting with pride after our incredible weekend at the SCBDA Class 5A State Marching Band Championships! As I reflect on our marching season, I feel a wide range of emotions.  I have seen times of excitement, growth, times of doubt, frustration, exhaustion, and times of teamwork and critical thinking. I understand that our work is difficult. But from that difficulty comes growth as a performer, individual, team member, and family member!

We were presented with a multitude of challenges this season. From the incredibly frustrating weather situations, to show cancellations, individual self-doubt, and a very difficult show. The White Knoll Band organization persevered through all of that to end on a high note! Saturday was the proof that when we collectively put our hearts and souls on the line, great things happen! The synergy of the students, staff, and parents peaked at just the right time. The results were staggering! Our band gave two great performances, and proved to everyone that you do not have to have 200+ members in your band to be great!

With all that being said I want to thank everyone for their hard and dedication to the band. Parents, our students need and deserve our dedication and perseverance. We have students doing extraordinary things because of your daily efforts. Please don’t under estimate your impact and the power of connecting with your children. Many need you. Let’s continue to work together and impact the lives of our students and this community. I don’t always articulate my appreciation but want each of you to know from the bottom of my heart, I value the work you do.
